1. Who we are

North Invoice is a Canadian app that helps freelancers and small businesses manage invoices, expenses, estimates, clients and bookkeeping documents. This policy covers both the North Invoice app and this website, northinvoice.pro.

2. This website

northinvoice.pro does not have accounts and does not run a server-side database. The free invoice generator at /invoice-generator runs entirely in your browser: the data you type in — business name, client details, line items, logo — is never sent to our servers. It is saved only to your own browser's localStorage so a refresh doesn't lose your work, and it stays on your device until you clear it. Generated PDFs are built client-side and downloaded directly; we never see them.

If this site uses analytics, it is a cookie-free, aggregate service (such as Cloudflare Web Analytics or Plausible) that does not track you individually across sites.

3. The North Invoice app — data storage

By default, all your data in the app — invoices, expenses, client information, estimates and scanned receipts — is stored locally on your device only.

Subscribers may optionally enable Cloud Backup, which securely uploads your data to Google Firebase Storage. Your data is stored under a unique identifier tied to your Google account and is accessible only by you. No one else, including North Invoice, can access your backed-up data.

4. Cloud Backup & Google Sign-In

Cloud Backup is an optional feature available to subscribers on the Monthly plan. To use it, you sign in with your Google account. We collect only your Google email address, used solely to identify your backup storage. We do not access your Google contacts, calendar or any other Google data.

Your backup files are stored on Google Firebase (Google LLC, USA) and are governed byGoogle's Privacy Policy. Backups are transmitted over an encrypted connection (HTTPS), and can optionally be restricted to Wi-Fi only.

5. Information we do not collect

  • We do not collect your name, address or business information (unless you choose to back up)
  • We do not collect financial data entered in the app or the web generator (unless you choose to back up in the app)
  • We do not use tracking SDKs or sell data to third parties
  • We do not serve advertisements

6. Camera & storage permissions (app)

Camera permission is used solely to scan receipts and documents. Receipt images are processed entirely on-device using Google ML Kit — no data is sent to Google's servers for this. Images may be included in your cloud backup if you have enabled that feature.

7. Data deletion

You can delete your cloud backup at any time by signing out and contacting us at the email below. Local app data can be deleted by uninstalling the app. Receipt images are automatically removed after 6 years in accordance with standard record-keeping requirements.

If your subscription lapses or is cancelled, your existing cloud backup is kept in case you resubscribe, but is automatically deleted after 90 days with no further backup activity on the account. Resubscribing or backing up again resets this period. This does not affect your local data on your device. Clearing your browser's site data for northinvoice.pro deletes any saved invoice-generator draft immediately.

8. Subscriptions & payments

North Invoice offers optional paid subscriptions processed through Google Play Billing (Android) or Apple's In-App Purchase system (iOS), depending on which store you subscribed through. We do not collect, process or store any payment or credit card information.

9. Children's privacy

North Invoice is intended for business use by adults. We do not knowingly collect information from children under the age of 13.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be reflected here and in the app with an updated date.

11. Your rights (PIPEDA & CCPA)

Canadian users: under PIPEDA you have the right to access, correct or request deletion of any personal information we hold about you.

California users: under the CCPA you have the right to know what personal information is collected and the right to delete it. We do not sell personal information.
